The sequence

$$a_n=\sqrt[n+1]{(n+1)!}-\sqrt[n]{n!}$$

is called the Lalescu sequence, after the Romanian mathematician Traian Lalescu (1882–1929). We prove that this sequence is monotonically decreasing.
