College physics is an important foundational course for students in science and engineering. Compared to high school physics, college physics covers a broader range and delves deeper into the subject matter, which often leads to difficulties for first-year students transitioning from high school physics to college physics. This paper, in conjunction with the practical teaching of college physics, analyzes four issues encountered in the transition from high school physics to college physics: repetitive content, the shift in research tools, changes in teaching methods, and the transformation of learning styles. Based on the fundamental principles of education and teaching, it proposes four targeted specific measures: demonstrating the superiority of college physics, prioritizing the teaching of vector calculus, enhancing literacy through cooperative inquiry, and teachers facilitating active learning. The aim of this paper is to help students smoothly transition from high school physics to college physics and to provide some reference for teachers in teaching college physics.
