As a newly discovered ceramic material, high-entropy ceramics are highly valued, due to their unique structure and high entropy effects. However, the sluggish diffusion effect makes it difficult to densify high-entropy ceramics by using the conventional sintering technology, which requires several hours or even a dozen hours of heat preservation at high temperature, making the preparation process both time- and energy-consuming. With the development of advanced sintering techniques, such as flash sintering, spark plasma sintering and ultrafast high-temperature sintering, the preparation of high-entropy ceramics could be achieved for short time at low sintering temperature. The research progress of high-entropy ceramics prepared by using various advanced sintering technologies is analyzed and summarized. The principles, characteristics, advantages and development prospects of different sintering techniques are discussed. Also, the research direction of sintering methods for high-entropy ceramics is evaluated.
