In order to find the way to unify competency-oriented education and exam-oriented education, we propose this ETA physics problem solving strategy originated from ETA physical cognition model. This method not only achieves the unity ofteaching, learning, testing, and research, but also overcomes the various drawbacks of “exam-oriented education”, helping students achieve better test scores.

Psychological issues among college students have become an increasingly severe and urgent problem in higher education. Can physics education help address these psychological challenges? Taking the typical psychological issues of science students as an example, this paper employs the ETA Scientific Cognitive Model to analyze the underlying causes of students' psychological problems and proposes targeted interventions. Practical evidence demonstrates that students' psychological issues can be significantly alleviated through the enhancement of scientific cognitive abilities (scientific cognition, scientific spirit, and scientific methodology). The causal analysis and intervention strategies outlined here are also applicable, in principle, to students in other disciplines and even to primary and secondary school students.
Physics learning is a big challenge for most undergraduate students. Some students may get serious psychological problems. In this paper we try to find the reason of physics learning problems in the cognitive view, and introduce the ETA Physics Learning Method as a solution. That is to say, ETA Physics Learning Method is an operationalised coping strategy used to improve learning, especially for students who have learning problems in physics.
