This study uses the Elaboration Likelihood Model (ELM) and social presence theory to examine the microblogging reposting mechanism. Subjective and objective data were collected from 216 respondents in a field experiment. The results indicate that information quality and source credibility of microblogging messages affect users’ reposting intention by affecting their perceptions of the usefulness and enjoyment of the information. Perceived enjoyment has a greater impact on reposting intention than perceived usefulness. Furthermore, users are able to perceive social presence when interacting with microblogging messages. Social presence plays a full mediating role between information quality and perceived enjoyment, and a partial mediating role between information quality and perceived usefulness.

Information Technology (IT) investments, especially Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, are critical for the survival and development of companies. Therefore, understanding the impact of ERP investment is of great importance to managers and researchers. As a corporate performance indicator, Tobin’s Q has some inherent advantages compared to other accounting indicators, and it can better reflect the contribution of ERP investment to company performance. This study employs multiple regression models to examine the impact of ERP investment on Tobin’s Q. The sample consists of 126 manufacturing companies listed on the Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges from 1999 to 2007. Empirical results show that in the first three years after ERP implementation, there is no significant change in Tobin’s Q; however, in the fourth year, Tobin’s Q increases significantly. The results indicate that, as a strategic long-term investment accompanied by large-scale business process reengineering and organizational learning, ERP implementation has time-lagged effects; nonetheless, it eventually produces significant benefits.
The mobile search, a combination of a web search engine and a mobile communication system, is viewed as the most influential application in the 3G era. Therefore, mobile search service providers are eager to know which factors most influence user acceptance of mobile searches. Based on the characteristics of mobile searches and a review of previous information technology acceptance research, this study integrates the task technology fit model and the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology model to develop a mobile search acceptance model and empirically tests this model. This study finds that, for mobile searches, the performance expectancy, social influence, and perceived cost all significantly influence use intention and the performance expectancy increases with the increasing user’s experience and higher task-technology fit degree. The effort expectancy is found to not affect the use intention of mobile searches and the users’ gender does not have a significant moderating effect on the use intention. The results are then used to develop suggestions for mobile search providers to promote their application and development.
