Call for Papers: Special Issue on Cybernetics for the Low-Altitude Economy and Counter-UAV Systems

The rapid emergence of the Low-Altitude Economy (LAE), driven by the widespread deployment of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and advanced air mobility, is fundamentally reshaping urban logistics, transportation, and physical agents' operations. At the same time, the proliferation of non-cooperative, rogue, and malicious UAVs presents unprecedented challenges to airspace management and public security. This Special Issue focuses on the intersection of intelligent cybernetics and low-altitude security, exploring advanced perception, autonomous interception, and robust control architectures designed to mitigate UAV threats and ensure the safe, resilient, and orderly operation of the low-altitude economy.

The scope includes, but is not limited to:

  • Intelligent path planning and Unmanned Aircraft System Traffic Management (UTM)
  • Parallel Intelligence/Digital Twin for the Low-Altitude Systems
  • Multi-modal perception and AI-driven detection of non-cooperative micro/small UAVs
  • Autonomous guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) for physical C-UAV interception
  • Swarm intelligence, game-theoretic modeling, and counter-swarm defense mechanisms
  • Electromagnetic security, intelligent jamming, and spoofing mitigation
  • Resilient cyber-physical systems (CPS) and fault-tolerant control under C-UAV interventions
  • Simulation-to-reality transfer and evaluation platforms for LAE security systems
  • Safety, trustworthiness, and policy implications for intelligent airspace governance

All manuscripts submitted to the special issue will be subjected to peer review. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their completed manuscript to https://mc03.manuscriptcentral.com/cai with “Special Issue on Cybernetics for the Low-Altitude Economy and Counter-UAV Systems” marked in the cover letter.
