Cybernetics and Intelligence Open Access Editor-in-Chief: Tao Zhang
About Journal
Journal Information

Cybernetics and Intelligence is a peer-reviewed, international journal dedicated to the advancement of the theory, methodology, and application of cybernetics and intelligent systems. The journal provides a high-level forum for researchers, engineers, and practitioners to disseminate transformative research that bridges the gap between human, machine, and biological intelligence through the lens of control, communication, and feedback.

Cybernetics and Intelligence is an open access journal, academically supported by the Department of Automation, Tsinghua University, and quarterly published by Tsinghua University Press with all articles available on IEEE Xplore. The open access fees (article-processing charges) are fully sponsored by Tsinghua University, China. Authors can publish in the journal without any additional charges.

The core mission of the journal is to explore the synergistic integration of classical cybernetics with modern artificial intelligence. We seek original contributions that address the complexity of large-scale systems, the evolution of autonomous agents, and the symbiotic relationship between computational intelligence and physical environments.

Aims and Scope

The scope of Cybernetics and Intelligence includes, but is not limited to, the following

(1) Control Theory and Systems Science: Including feedback control, stability analysis, self-organizing systems, complex adaptive systems, and the mathematical foundations of systems science.

2) Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning: Focusing on neural networks, fuzzy systems, evolutionary computation, deep learning, and reinforcement learning within cybernetic frameworks.

(3) Human–Machine Systems and Interaction: Research on brain–computer interfaces, augmented intelligence, social cybernetics, and human-in-the-loop control systems.

(4) Robotics and Autonomous Intelligence: Advanced robotics, multi-agent systems, swarm intelligence, and autonomous navigation in uncertain environments.

(5) Cognitive Informatics and Bio-Cybernetics: Computational modeling of biological processes, cognitive computing, and the application of cybernetic principles to life sciences.

(6) Information Processing and Data Intelligence: Big data analytics, signal processing, pattern recognition, and cyber-physical systems (CPS).

Article Types

The journal invites submissions in the following formats:

(1) Original Research Articles: Presenting significant theoretical developments or innovative experimental results.

(2) Review Articles: Critical and comprehensive evaluations of existing research and emerging trends in specific sub-fields.

Submission

All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous single-blind peer-review process based on initial editor screening and refereeing by at least two independent experts. The journal emphasizes technical soundness, original contribution, and clarity of exposition. The submission and review system is available at https://mc03.manuscriptcentral.com/cai
