Abstract

In recent years, the conservation of revolutionary heritage sites has become increasingly important within the context of urban transformation and sustainable development. This study defines them as the nodal places embedded in the urban fabric of Nanjing (1919–1949), which materially witness and carry revolutionary narratives. Using multi-source spatiotemporal data, this paper integrates the complex relationships among historic sites, figures, activities, and events in Nanjing into a thematic semantic network, facilitating a shift from site-based conservation toward area-based strategies. It aims to provide theoretical support and practical pathways for applying narrative spatial networks to heritage conservation, while contributing to the comprehensive maintenance and revitalization of the historic urban landscape.
