The urgent need for sustainable and eco-friendly solutions has spurred substantial research within the realm of catalysis for clean energy and environmental technologies. Among explored materials, carbon presents a variety of advantages concerning high-surface areas, excellent electrical/thermal conductivity, tunable morphologies, porosity, and nanostructures, and feasible chemical dopants and surface modification. Therefore, there has been growing interest in harnessing sustainable carbon-based materials for catalytic applications in recent years. This special issue is dedicated to spotlighting the most cutting-edge research and advancements in the creation and application of sustainable carbon materials for innovative catalysis.
