Call for Papers: Special Issue on Energy and Climate Modelling

In the face of global endeavors to combat climate change, the utilization of models for impact assessment has assumed a pivotal role in shaping climate targets and guiding policy formulation on a global scale. By simulating potential impacts, these models have emerged as valuable tools that equip policymakers with insights into feasible emission reduction strategies and their corresponding socio-economic implications. Notably, the evolution of energy and climate modelling has led to increased model sophistication, especially in terms of intricate interdependencies within studied systems and technology details.

This special issue is centered around recent advancements in Energy and Climate Modelling. It aims to present a collection of papers that delve into models which have found extensive application within the domain of climate change research. The scope of these targeted models encompasses, but is not confined to, environmentally extended economic models, technology-rich sector models, and integrated assessment models. The submitted papers are anticipated to not only introduce these models and their historical applications but also explore potential future utilization.

We eagerly anticipate your favorable response to this invitation and encourage you to submit your manuscript by the due date of November 30, 2023, through the online submission portal available at https://mc03.manuscriptcentral.com/jecm. The anticipated publication date for the special issue is April 2024.

Should you require any clarifications or additional information, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.
