Prof. Bing-Yuan Cao, Editor-in-Chief of the journal, presided over the conference and delivered a speech.

Prof. Witold Pedrycz, chair of the meeting, Advisory Board Member of the journal, IEEE fellow, fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, foreign member of the Polish Academy of Sciences, attended the conference, gave a report entitled “Federated learning: A perspective of granular computing”, and contributed to the journal, which has been published in the front page of this magazine this year (https://doi.org/10.26599/FIE.2023.9270001).

Prof. Zhi-Feng Hao, Advisory Board Member of the journal, president of Shantou University, attended the conference and delivered a report entitled “On the new problems of metaverse and operational optimization”.

Due to the epidemic, Professor Jingzhong Zhang, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Prof. Tavakkoli Moghaddam, and Prof. Seyed Hadi Nasseri (Area Editor of the journal), vice chairman of Iranian Society of Operations Research, have sent written reports.
