Manuscripts should address the full lifecycle growth, development, and health management of plants with trees as the primary subject. This includes research papers, research reports, literature reviews, new technologies and methods, tree diagnosis and rehabilitation cases, and disciplinary news related to tree physiology, cultivation science, ecology, molecular biology, soil science, pathology, entomology, and related disciplines.

Papers accepted by Tree Health must undergo evaluation by at least 2 peer experts, involve no confidentiality issues, demonstrate scientifically sound and innovative research approaches and methods, present reliable data, and offer unique discoveries, inventions, or insights that provide reference value and enlightenment for future practical applications and scientific research.

Overview

This document provides formatting guidelines and a structural template for manuscripts submitted to Tree Health. All submissions must follow the formatting requirements outlined below.

Manuscripts should include both Chinese and English titles, abstracts, and keywords. The English sections should be grammatically correct and use standard scientific terminology.

Title Page

1. Chinese Title (centered, size 18pt, Bold font, max 25 Chinese characters): Concise, specific, and accurate, summarizing the essence of the article.
2. English Title (centered, size 16pt, Times New Roman): Consistent with the Chinese title.
3. Author Names (size 12pt, FangSong font): Use superscript numbers 1, 2... for multiple affiliations.
4. Affiliations (size 10.5pt, Song font): Include full institution name, city, and postal code.
5. Corresponding Author (size 10.5pt, Song font): Marked with asterisk, include email address and professional title.

Abstract and Keywords

Chinese Abstract (size 10pt, Bold heading): Summarizes the study's objectives, materials, methods, results, and main conclusions.

Chinese Keywords: 5-8 substantive terms (nouns or noun phrases); the first keyword corresponds to the Chinese Library Classification number.

English Abstract: Must include the same elements as the Chinese abstract but with more detail for international readers.

English Keywords: Standard scientific terminology matching the Chinese keywords.

Article Number: Assigned by the editorial office.

Chinese Library Classification Number: Queryable online.

Nomenclature and Citations

Species Names: Provide full Latin name at first mention. Genus and species in italics, authority in regular font. Genus names are not abbreviated at first occurrence. Example: Pinus contorta Douglas ex Loudon

Reference Citations (in-text): Author-year system. If the author's name appears in the text, only the year follows in parentheses.

• Single author: (Author, Year)
• Multiple authors: First author + et al. for three or more authors

Reference List: Organized by author-year system, Chinese references first, then English. All Chinese references must include English translations.

• Chinese references sorted alphabetically by Pinyin
• English references sorted alphabetically by surname
• Chinese names: Surname first, given name initials (e.g., Tian Youwen → Tian Y W)

Place at the end of the main text before references. Acknowledgments of individuals require the consent and signature of the acknowledged person.

Figures and tables: Numbered sequentially with descriptive captions. Figure captions below figures; table captions above tables.

After receiving a manuscript (and assigning a manuscript number), the editorial office sends a "receipt notification" to the author's email. Authors may log in to the system at any time to check the review status. The editorial office notifies authors of review results approximately 1 month after receiving the manuscript. Authors of manuscripts requiring revision are expected to complete revisions within 1 month, submitting the revised manuscript along with the original, revision letter, and response to comments.

The journal currently charges no review fees or page charges. Published papers receive nominal remuneration after the print edition is released.

From the date of submission to this journal, manuscripts may not be submitted elsewhere for a period of six months; revisions exceeding 3 months are treated as new submissions.

The journal does not accept duplicate submissions or redundant manuscripts. The information and academic findings presented in papers must be original and unpublished by the authors. Once accepted, manuscripts will be disseminated via associated online media along with the journal. If authors object to this, they must declare to the editorial office at the time of submission.
