Submission Guidelines
Manuscript Preparation

1. Article type requirements

The journal accepts Chinese and English manuscripts of research papers, research letters and reviews.

2. Manuscript content requirements

The content of the manuscript includes the field of high-pressure physics and its related interdisciplinary subjects. Research papers should be highly innovative; research letters should have important pioneering results; reviews should provide strong foresight and guidance, and be written by teams that have done important related work in the field. The theoretical and computational articles should combine with experiments as much as possible, and the theoretical analysis of the experimental articles should have sufficient depth and physical connotations.

3. Manuscript format requirements

(1) Please refer to Template of Chinese Journal of High Pressure Physics for manuscript format. Please log in to the "Author Center" (https://gywlxbauthor.manuscriptcloud.com/login) on the website of the journal to submit your manuscript online.

(2) Contributions must have clear arguments, reliable arguments, accurate data, rigorous logic, concise words, and clear diagrams. The length of the paper is not limited, please use the legal measurement unit of the People's Republic of China.

(3) Manuscript should provide the introduction of the first author and the corresponding author (name, year of birth, gender, title, degree, research direction, etc.), as well as necessary contact information (mailing address, postal code, telephone number, e-mail, etc.). Please indicate the funded project of the work (funded project name and approval number). 

(4) The title of the manuscript should be within 20 words. The figures and tables in the text should be self-explanatory. All figure titles, legends, and all table titles, table notes must be in Chinese and English. The text in the figures and tables should be in English. Try to provide vector graphics (such as eps, emf, wmf, ai, cdr, etc.).

(5) The Chinese and English abstracts should be written in the third person, and the language should be concise. The abstract is required to have the same amount of main information as the main part of the manuscript, including four elements, namely research purposes, methods, results and conclusions. The abstract is for the purpose of providing the outline of the paper, comment and explanation of the content of the paper are not allowed. The Chinese abstract should be between 200 and 400 words. and the English abstract should be no less than 120 notional words. The Chinese and English abstracts should correspond well. In order to facilitate the inclusion in international databases, special characters (various mathematical symbols, subscripts, and Greek letters) and mathematical expressions composed of special characters should be avoided in the English abstract. The first sentence should not be a repeat of the title. Try to use short sentences and avoid monotony. Use the past tense to describe the main work, the present tense to describe the conclusion. Try to use the active voice instead of the passive voice.

(6) References should be public publications. Please fully cite the references, that is, the number of citations should not be too few,  and try to cite recent highly corresponding domestic and foreign literature. Please follow the national standard of the People's Republic of China GB/T 7714-2015 and use the sequential coding system for citation. Chinese references must be accompanied by English references (if English version exists), and the bibliographic items should be complete.

4. Copyright Transfer Agreement

Authors should ensure the independence of the copyright of the article. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited. Authors takes all responsibility for the text. Submissions must be unpublished, original in content, and must not duplicate previously published content. The manuscript will be rejected if this is not the case. All accepted manuscripts must sign a copyright transfer agreement with the editorial office. The first author should ensure that all authors have no objection to the authorship of the article. Accepted manuscripts will not be published until the copyright transfer agreement has been received.

5. Confidentiality Review

Contributions must not involve the state and the unit's secrets. Please attach the unit's confidentiality review comments when submitting the manuscript. The review result should be signed by the reviewer and stamped with the official seal.

Submission Process

Register the submission account in the "Author Center" —— Log in —— Fill in author information (including mailing address, email, contact phone number, etc.) —— Fill in the basic information of the manuscript —— Submit MS WORD manuscript (including equations, drawings, tables, etc.) —— Submit the copyright transfer agreement.

Review Process

According to relevant publishing laws and regulations and academic journal codes of practice, Chinese Journal of High Pressure Physics adopts the three-review method combined with single-blind peer review. The whole review process  includes four parts: preliminary review by editor, peer review, second review by editor, and editorial decision.

1. Preliminary review by the editor: The manuscript is first reviewed by the editor to determine whether the content conforms to the scope of the journal, whether it is scientific, advanced and innovative, whether the format meets the requirements of the journal, and whether there is any academic misconduct (screening for plagiarism by AMLC service in CNKI Web).

2. Peer review: Single blind review is implemented. According to the content of the manuscript, the manuscript will be sent to reviewers in the corresponding field for peer review. The reviewers are selected from the public database, and two or more experts are generally selected. The selection is based on an comprehensively consideration of the academic level, reputation, academic impartiality, quality of review reports, review speed and other factors. If one of the reviewers does not respond for a long time, the editor will select another reviewer.

3. Second review by editor: The editor will review the article according to the opinions given by the experts during the peer review process, decide whether to return the manuscript to the author for modification or reject it, and feedback the peer review comments to the author. The author should read the review report carefully, revise the submitted manuscript according to the review comments, reply to all the review comments and suggestions, and mark the revisions. If the author has any disagreement with the reviewer's opinion, clear explanation should be given. Authors need to submit the revised manuscripts in the system.

4. Editorial decision: The editorial director makes the final decision on whether to accept the manuscript based on the expert review report and the author's revised manuscript.

The review time of manuscripts depends on many factors, such as the response time of peer experts, the workload of editors, the response time and the manuscript revision time of authors. However, the journal strives to complete the review process of manuscripts in the shortest time and publish the accepted articles in the shortest time.

Note after Acceptance

1. Publication Charges

After the author receives the acceptance notice, please pay the article processing charges (2,200 yuan/article) in time, and submit relevant information in the system. Except for the article processing charges, no other fees are required by the journal. 

2. Editing, Typesetting and Proofreading:

After the manuscript is accepted, the editor will carry out in-depth text retouching, typesetting and proofreading to ensure that it meets the relevant national publishing standards and the requirements and styles of Chinese Journal of High Pressure Physics.

3. Press Proof Confirmation:

The author will receive an email with the press proof or an online press proof confirmation notice. The author needs to carefully check the content of the press proof and reply within 3 days. The responsible editor will complete the revision and the verification accordingly.

4.  Publication cycle:

Most articles will be published within 2~3 weeks after sample confirmation and return, and the average publication cycle (from the receipt of the editorial office to the paper journal) is about 24 weeks.

5.  Version storage:

Different versions of the author's manuscript will be stored on the official website system of the journal, including the original version, accepted version and published version. The author can log in to obtain these versions through the account of the website system.

Paper and electronic issues are archived in China National Archives of Publication and Culture.

In addition, the journal allows authors to store all versions of their articles in an institution or other knowledge repository of their own choice, provided that it is indicated in the repository that the article was originally published in Chinese Journal of High Pressure Physics.

6.  Others:

Chinese Journal of High Pressure Physics has always been adhering to the concept of serving science, serving readers and serving authors, and treats every draft carefully and respects author's labor. Excellent manuscripts have a fast channel for publication, and major innovative achievements can be published within one month. A number of outstanding paper awards are set each year in order to recognize outstanding papers published in the journal.

Guidelines for Referees

1. Review procedure:

The editorial office will check the duplication and preliminary review of all submitted manuscripts. Articles that lack sufficient physical connotation and novelty, or contain content out of the scope of the journal, unreliable research methods, unreliable results, wrong basic concepts, or cannot support the main conclusions, or have poor writing quality, or fail duplication review will be directly rejected and will not be sent to the external peer reviewer. Authors of such manuscripts can appeal. For manuscripts that pass the preliminary review, the editor will select at least two reviewers for the external peer review, and sometimes ask reviewers to review the revised manuscript. When the review report is inconclusive, the editor will initiate additional review procedures. For controversial manuscripts, editors will consult the editorial board.

2. Selection of external peer review experts:

The selection of external peer review reviewers is critical to maintain the academic quality of the journal. The editorial office will comprehensively consider multiple factors when selecting external peer review reviewers, including academic level, reputation, academic impartiality, review report, and review speed. Reviewers, whose review comments are rough, general or whose review time is too long, and reviewers who are too harsh or lax, should be avoided in the selection.

3. Accept or reject a review for external peer review expert:

Before accepting a review, please ensure that the content of the manuscript is close enough to your area of expertise, so that you can provide professional opinion. If it is quite different from your area of expertise, or you do not have time to review the manuscript in the near future, please refuse to review the manuscript, and you are welcome to make suggestions for alternate reviewers.

4. Peer review time:

In order to make the article published as soon as possible, the external reviewers are requested to return the review comments within 12 days after the receipt of the manuscript. The editorial system will automatically send reminders to the external reviewers on the 1st and 7th days after the overdue period, and the editorial office will manually remind them on the 15th days after the overdue period.

5. Anonymity and confidentiality of the peer review process:

The peer review adopts a single-blind review system. The editorial office will not disclose the identities of reviewers to authors or to other reviewers throughout and after the review process. Reviewers must not refer to any material from the peer review process as their own research. When reviewing the manuscript, the reviewer should not discuss with the author. If you have any questions, contact the editor to ask. In case of inconvenience, reviewers can write their comments separately in the comments column designated merely for the editors on the review page.

6. Conflict of interest notification:

It is critical that reviewers disclose conflicts of interest to editors. Please notify the editor if you have a direct competition, a direct collaboration, or other relationship with the author that may prevent you from evaluating the manuscript objectively.

7. Review report writing requirements:

When writing a review report, please be objective, clear and concise, and avoid overly negative or controversial comments. The review report should include review comments and recommendations on whether to accept or not.

(1) Review comments: comments on the originality, the importance of the content of the manuscript, the academic quality, the scientific rigor, the language expression of the manuscript. and suggestions for revision, etc., should be included.

(2) Recommendations: give suggestions for publication, publication after revision, review after revision, or rejection of the manuscript, and provide the corresponding reasons for the suggestion.

8. Author appeal:

Authors can appeal against the editor's rejection decision on the manuscript. In the event of an appeal, the manuscript and all relevant information, including the identities of reviewers, will be sent to an editorial board member. If there is no suitable candidate in the editorial board, the editor will select a suitable scientist in the corresponding field to review the appealed manuscript. Review comments will be sent to authors along with the decision of acceptance or rejection.

Copyright Transfer Agreement

In accordance with the Copyright Law of the People's Republic of China, from the date of signing this agreement, all authors of the above manuscript agree to transfer indefinitely the copyright of the manuscript to the editorial office of Chinese Journal of High Pressure Physics (the editorial office). The related issues are described as follows:

1. The authors guarantee that the manuscript is an original research result, independently obtained by the author, and has not been published at home and abroad.

2. The authors guarantee that the manuscript does not infringe the copyright and other legal rights of any third party, and does not involve confidential issues. In the event of infringement or confidentiality, all responsibilities shall be borne by the authors.

3. The author guarantees that the authorship of the manuscript is undisputed. In case of disputed issues of authorship, all responsibility shall be borne by the authors.

4. The authors guarantee that the manuscript has not be submitted to journals other than Chinese Journal of High Pressure Physics. If there is any violation, the editorial office has the right to recover the losses caused by the authors.

5. The authors agree to transfer the copyright of the article to the editorial office, including but not limited to following rights: (1) reproduction of print and electronic versions; (2) distribution; (3) information network dissemination; (4) translation; (5) compilation (in full or in part).

6. The authors agree to the open access policy of the editorial office. Users are allowed to copy and redistribute the paper as long as CC BY-NC 4.0 license is observed. Users must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. Users can not use the material for commercial purposes.

7. The editorial office will send a notice of revision, acceptance or rejection to the authors within 90 days from the date of receipt of this transfer. If the manuscript is rejected, this agreement will be automatically terminated when the authors receive the rejection notice. If the authors do not receive the editorial office's notice on the decision of the manuscript within 90 days, this agreement will be automatically terminated after a declaration to the editorial office that the authors want to submit the manuscript to other journals.

8. For the manuscript accepted by Chinese Journal of High Pressure Physics, the editorial office will charge the authors a one-time page fee according to the editorial the editorial office's fee schedule.

9. Once that the manuscript is first published in Chinese Journal of High Pressure Physics, the editorial office will pay the authors a one-time remuneration according to the editorial fee standard, and provide 3 samples. If the editorial office publishes the manuscript in other forms, no additional remuneration will be given to the authors.

10. For other unmentioned issues, if there is a dispute, negotiation is favorable. If negotiation fails, the dispute will be dealt with in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.

11. This agreement shall enter into force on the date of signature/sealing. The scan/copy shall have the same legal effect as the original.
