Explosion and Shock Waves publishes the peer-reviewed articles, brief reporting and latest information on the following orientations: explosion, detonation, combustion, impact dynamics, high-speed collision, dynamic high-pressure technology, high energy density dynamics driven by laser or electro-magnetic technology, dynamic properties of materials, driving & fabrication by explosion, engineering blasting, anti-explosion structure, calculation method, testing and experimental technology for explosion mechanics ,and equipment and safety technology for explosion.

Submit:

Explosion and Shock Waves adopts the method of website submission. To submit a manuscript, please log in the Author Center (https://bzycjauthor.manuscriptcloud.com/login) on the website homepage of the journal, and follow the prompts for relevant submission operations. Please avoid multiple contributions for one manuscript.

Before submitting your manuscript, please read the Ethics Statement (http://www.bzycj.cn/news/EthicsStatement.htm) carefully. All authors contributing to Explosion and Shock Waves are deemed as being aware of all the content in the Ethics Statement. 

Please download the Article Template of Explosion and Shock Waves (http://www.bzycj.cn/news_list_en.htm?column=downloadiist) which contains the most detailed requirement of the article format. Please write the manuscript by following the requirement and under the framework of the template.

Authors are required to guarantee the originality of the paper and to ensure that the right of attribution of the results is not in dispute.

Authors are required to sign a Copyright Transfer Agreement with the Editorial Department (see https://www.bzycj.cn/news/CopyrightItems/f8260dbc-1f9d-4a85-b98c-8d33cb8ddfe8_en.htm for details), transferring the copyright of the manuscript to the Editorial Department.

Authors need to promise that the manuscript does not involve state secrets and provide the Editorial Department with the review opinion of their units (see the bottom of the Copyright Transfer Agreement, which must be signed by the authors and stamped by their units).

Accept and Reject

The Editorial Department will organize the peer-review on the manuscript, the process of which is introduced in the web-page of (http://www.bzycj.cn/news/EditorialProcess.htm), and give feedback on the review results within 4 months (1 to 2 months in average) after the date of receipt. If there is no reply within 4 months, the author may deal with the manuscript separately after notifying the Editorial Department.

If the manuscript passes the review, the editorial department will notify the author by email after the acceptance. The editorial department will provide a sealed "Manuscript Acceptance Notification" in case of author’s request.

If the manuscript fails to pass the review, the Editorial Department will notify the author by email and provide the review comments. The author can deal with the manuscript separately after receiving the notification.

Plagiarism Check

Authors are required to submit the original and creative achievements that are contained in the manuscript with a repetition ratio of no more than 5%. The editorial department will carry out plagiarism checks at the first inner review, before the acceptance, and before the publication, by using the CNKI plagiarism system. If it is found at any process that plagiarism is involved, the editorial process will be terminated and the manuscript will be rejected.

Publishing Periodicity

The current average publication period of Explosion and Shock Waves (from the time that the editorial department receives the manuscript to the official publication) is 36 weeks (9 months). Depending on the specific publication plan, a few manuscripts may exceed this range.

Repository

All versions of the authors' work, including the submitted manuscript, the accepted version, and the published article will be re-posited on the official website of Explosion and Shock Waves, and can be accessed by the authors through their account of the submission system.

The paper and electronic issues are archived at China National Archives of Publication and Culture.

In addition, the journal allows authors to store all versions of their articles in an institutional or other knowledge repository of their choice, provided that it is indicated in the repository that the article was originally published in Explosion and Shock Waves.

Author Charges

The Editorial Department charge authors 2500 yuan as article processing charge after the acceptance and before officially published.There is no other charges.

EDITORIAL PROCESS & PEER REVIEW

Explosion and Shock Waves adopts the review method of inner triple review combined with single-blind peer review.

First Editorial Review (no more than 7 days)

After receiving the manuscript, the Editorial Department will designate a responsible editor to conduct a preliminary review, to judge whether the manuscript conforms to the aims and scopes of the journal.

Peer Review (generally no more than 45 days)

Explosion and Shock Waves uses single-blind peer review method.

The manuscript that have passed the preliminary review is sent to at least two qualified experts for peer reviews. The peer reviews are required to provide a comprehensively evaluation on the scientific nature, originality, innovation, practicability of the topic, rationality of research designing, accuracy of manuscript expression, and ethical issues that may be involved in the manuscript.

The chosen reviewers should not be involved in any benefit relation or conflict with the authors or the scientific research which may affects the fairness of the opinion.

The initiative of acceptance can be concluded while at least two effective peer-review comments are supportive. Effective comments refer to opinions that are specific, detailed, unbiased, and do not involve disputes of interest.

Revision

If acceptance of the manuscript is concluded and revision is required according to the peer-review opinions, the executive editor will send the manuscript back to authors for modification. The modified manuscript may be send to the peer-review expert again for further review, depending on the requirement of the expert.

Second Editorial Review (generally no more than 7 days)

For manuscript having successfully passed the peer review, the editorial department will conduct the second inner review to evaluate the rationality and completeness of the authors' revisions, and to check the writing specifications of the manuscript. The authors may be required to modify the manuscript again in this process.

Final Review

If supported by the above evaluation, the manuscript will be handled to the Editor-in-Chief to make the conclusive publishing decision (accept, reject or revise) based on the review provided.

Acceptance and Rejection

If the manuscript is accepted by the final decision, the Editorial Department will notice the author through E-mail. The sealed notification will also be provided to authors if demanded. Before acceptance, the author should have signed the Copyright Transfer Agreement including the State Secret Checking Opinion sealed by authors' institute and paid the Editorial Department 2500 yuan as the page charges.

If the manuscript is rejected, the Copyright Transfer Agreement will be deemed as terminated and author may deal with the manuscript at will.

Plagiarism Check

Authors are required to submit the original, creative achievements obtained independently in the manuscript with a repetition ratio of no more than 5%. The Editorial Department will carry out three times of plagiarism check for each article while the first inner review, before acceptance and before publish, respectively, by using the CNKI plagiarism system. If it is found at any process that plagiarism is involved, the editorial process will be terminated and the manuscript will be rejected.

Publishing, Periodicity & Archiving

The accepted manuscript will be published in advance both on the official website of Explosion and Shock Waves and CNKI usually within 4 months from receipt, and then officially published contained in the complete issue after the process of editorial modification, three times of proofread, compilation and press proof read, etc.

The official publishing periodicity usually ranges from 36 weeks (9 months). The manuscript evaluated as extraordinary outstanding can be published preferentially. The periodicity of a few manuscript may exceed 9 months due to the regulation of overall publication schedule.

Synchronized with the publication in the print version, the articles will be published and long-term achived on the official website of Explosion and Shock Waves for free access, and additionally on CNKI, CQVIP, Chaoxing and Bookan, etc, for transmission and archiving. Also, the article information can be indexed by EI compendex, Scopus and JST, etc.

The paper and electronic issues are archived at China National Archives of Publication and Culture at the same time as they are distributed.

Publication fee

After acceptance, the authors need to pay 2500 yuan for each manuscript to the editorial department as the page charge. Besides, there is no any other charge.

All the authors of the above manuscript agree to automatically transfer the copyright of the article (including but not limited to the rights of reproduction, distribution, online dissemination, compilation, translation, adaptation) to the Editorial Department of Explosion and Shock Waves (hereinafter referred to as the Editorial Department) after signing this agreement, and accept the following terms:

1. The main content of the manuscript presents the original research results obtained independently by the above authors and no plagiarism is involved . The manuscript hasn't been publish in any public medias before and doesn't be submitted to any other public medias except Explosion and Shock Waves.

2. The manuscript is not involved in any dispute about authorship or intellectual property.

3. The manuscript is free of political errors and does not involve any state secret or contents to be patented. It has been check on state secret by the authors' institutes, and does not infringe the copyright and other legal rights of any third party. In case of secret leaks, infringement or political errors, the author shall bear all responsibilities.

4. The Editorial Department owns the copyright of this article, reusers (including the authors) are allowed to copy and redistribute the paper as long as CC BY-NC 4.0 License is observed. Reusers must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. Reusers may not use the material for commercial purposes.

5. The Editorial Department will organize the peer-review on the manuscript and give feedback on the review results within 120 days from the date of receipt. This agreement will be automatically terminated if the evaluation result is rejected. If there is no reply within 120 days, the author may deal with this article separately after giving an notification to the Editorial Department and guaranteeing that the Editorial Department is aware of it, and this agreement shall also be deemed as automatically terminated.

6. If the manuscript is accepted, the author promises to publish the manuscript in Explosion and Shock Waves, and pay the Editorial Department 2500 yuan as article processing charge. After the manuscript is published, the Editorial Department will pay the authors 50 yuan per page as the remuneration, and send the sample of current issue to the authors.

7. Respecting the original meaning of the manuscript, the Editorial Department holds right to make necessary modifications and standardization according to the relevant regulations. In the whole editing process, the first author and corresponding author are obliged to cooperate with the Editorial Department to complete the revision of the manuscript, answering questions, supplement necessary information and materials, checking the manuscript and other matters. Otherwise, the Editorial Department has the right to reject the manuscript at any stage.

8. If the authors violate the above agreements and causes losses to the Editorial Department, the first author (or corresponding author) shall bear the compensation liability.

9. Any disputes arising from other matters shall be settled by both parties through negotiation.  If no agreement can be reached through negotiation, it shall be handled in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.

10. This Agreement shall come into force on the date of signature / seal. If the authors provide the scanned copy or photocopy, the scanned copy/ photocopy has the same legal effect as the original.
