Editorial Review Policy

1. Review Process

This journal implements a blinded single-blind peer review system. Upon successful submission, the editorial office will first conduct a preliminary review of the manuscript. Submissions lacking sufficient originality, containing serious scientific or technical flaws, offering little valuable information, or falling outside the journal's scope may be rejected at this stage. Manuscripts passing the initial review will proceed to peer review. The manuscript will be sent to at least one reviewer. Authors must respond to the reviewers' comments point by point and submit a revised version of the manuscript. This process will repeat until the reviewers and editors are satisfied with the manuscript. The final decision for acceptance is made by the Editor-in-Chief or Associate Editors during the final review meeting. The editorial office will select manuscripts fairly based on academic quality and peer review feedback.

2. Processing Time

If a submission does not meet the journal's requirements, it will be returned to the author for revision. The time allowed for revision is generally one week. Failure to return the revised manuscript within the specified time may result in rejection. If the editorial office does not send a reply within one month, the submission may be considered rejected. However, if you intend to submit the manuscript elsewhere, please confirm this with the editorial office in advance.

3. Review of Special Issues and Columns

The above review process applies equally to manuscripts submitted to special issues, columns, and invited contributions. These submissions undergo the exact same review and editorial process as regular submissions and are ultimately accepted by the Editor-in-Chief. The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for the entire content of the journal, including special issues, columns, and invited contributions. The editorial office may invite authoritative experts in the field to serve as Guest Editors (hosts for special issues/columns). Their duties include proposing themes for special issues/columns, soliciting manuscripts, organizing peer reviews, and resolving any issues arising during publication. The work of Guest Editors is supervised by the Editor-in-Chief to ensure the impartiality of the review process.

4. Submissions by Editors, Editorial Board Members, and Guest Editors

Submissions by Editors, Editorial Board Members, and Guest Editors must adhere to all the same review and editorial procedures. Peer review must be conducted independently of the related Editor/Editorial Board Member/Guest Editor and their research groups. Editors/Editorial Board Members/Guest Editors must not participate in the review of manuscripts where there is a conflict of interest due to competition, collaboration, or other associations with the authors.

5. Corrections and Retractions

If an unintentional scientific error is discovered after publication, and it does not significantly impact the results and conclusions of the article, the editorial office will issue a correction notice as soon as possible, detailing the changes made to the original text. If a published article contains serious scientific errors or is suspected of academic misconduct such as plagiarism or data fabrication, the editorial office may issue a notice stating that the article is under investigation and publish the results, or even retract the article and issue a retraction statement.

6. Appeals and Discussions

Authors who disagree with the editorial or review decisions may file an appeal. Authors need to prepare an "Appeal Statement." The statement must cite the manuscript number, state the detailed appeal reasons, provide a comprehensive and reasonable explanation for disagreeing with the review comments, and be stamped by the author's affiliated institution to be valid. The editorial office will decide whether to accept the appeal based on the specific circumstances. After an article is published, the journal welcomes discussions from authors and readers. The editorial office will process and provide feedback on these discussions as appropriate. We encourage readers and authors to supervise each other and actively provide feedback to foster a healthy academic atmosphere. Appeals and post-publication discussions can be sent to the journal email: mailto:fbshny@cdt-kxjs.com.
