iFungi (eISSN 3079-7284) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal that publishes original research articles and comprehensive reviews on all aspects of medical mycology.
The journal focuses on three main areas:
Basic Researches: Exploring fungal taxonomy, pathogenesis, host immunity, antifungal resistance, and omics-based discoveries related to key human pathogens such as Candida, Aspergillus, Dermatophytes, Mucorales, and emerging species. Additionally, we encourage exploration of the mechanisms by which fungal infection or colonization directly or indirectly leads to the occurrence of diseases such as inflammation, infection, tumors and other diseases.
Clinical Researches: Encompassing epidemiologic investigations, diagnostic studies, antifungal treatment strategies, clinical guidelines and expert consensus. Topics include the management of both superficial and systemic fungal infections, with a focus on addressing unmet clinical needs.
Technology and Translational Tools: Development of next-generation diagnostics, antifungal drug design, experimental models, databases, artificial intelligence applications, and translational approaches that accelerate the application of research findings to clinical practice. Additionally, we encourage the development of medicinal components based on fungal ingredients or metabolites to promote the generation of new therapies for inflammation, infection, tumor, and other diseases. We are particularly interested in studies that apply ideas or methods from other disciplines to tackle unresolved questions in medical mycology.
