The Journal of Highway and Transportation Research and Development (English Edition) (HTRD) was established in 2006. It is an English-language, open access, and quarterly journal (ISSN 2095-6215), sponsored by the Research Institute of Highway Ministry of Transport, China; published by the Journal of Highway and Transportation Research and Development Co., Ltd. Since 2024, it is co-published by Tsinghua University Press and distributed internationally online via the SciOpen. HTRD’s articles between 2006 and 2023 published by American Society of Civil Engineer (ASCE) Library are available for access at https://ascelibrary.org/journal/jhtrcq.

HTRD is dedicated to disseminating innovative and practical research in the fields of highway and transportation, with an emphasis on scientific inquiry, technological advancement, engineering innovation. The journal covers a wide array of topics, including but not limited to civil engineering (roads, bridges, tunnels), transportation engineering, intelligent transportation, automotive engineering, logistics engineering, environmental engineering, transportation economics, and road construction machinery.
