Carbon Future is an open access, peer-reviewed and interdisciplinary journal that reports carbon-related materials and processes, including catalysis, energy conversion and storage, as well as low carbon emission process and engineering.
Carbon Future publishes Research Articles, Reviews, Highlights, Perspectives, and News and Views from all aspects concerned with carbon.
Carbon Future publishes articles that focus on, but not limited to, the following areas:
- Carbon-related or -derived materials
Synthetic or the applications of carbon-related materials, such as fullerene, diamond, carbon nanotube, graphene, graphyne, carbon quantum dots, carbon aerogel, carbon nanofibers, porous carbon and their composite materials and hybrid materials.
- Carbon-related catalysis and fundamentals
Carbon-based or related catalytic processes, including preparation, characterization, activation/deactivation, regeneration of novel catalysts, new catalytic routes and processes for clean energy, catalytic reactions for wastes recycling, electrocatalysis, photocatalysis, catalytic combustion technologies, novel catalytic transformations of biomass components.
- Low carbon-related energy conversion and storage
Batteries, supercapacitors, fuel cells, hydrogen generation and storage, thermoelectrics, electrocatalysis, photocatalysis, solar fuels, phase change energy storage, and thermosolar power.
- Low carbon emission chemical processes
Novel catalytic process for a variety of feedstocks (e.g. oil, gas, coal, biomass and synthesis gas) with low carbon emission, capture, storage and fate of CO2, including chemicals and fuels from CO2, waste utilization, low carbon emission systems and networks for reshaping the chemical industry.
