Tsinghua University Press joins the Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers

Recently, Tsinghua University Press has joined the Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers (ALPSP).

ALPSP is the world’s leading international trade association which supports and represents not-for-profit organizations that publish scholarly and professional content, and those that work with them. Committed to promoting the prosperity of global publishing industry, ALPSP provides a forum in which to share information and knowledge, and engage in open discussion on the challenges and opportunities faced by publishing. It brings together multiple roles, including journal and book publishers, scholarly societies, database publishers, university libraries as well as government agencies, keeping the publishing process unhindered.

The member organizations of ALPSP can take advantage of diverse benefits such as free access to the latest news, research and advice, discounts on all virtual trainings, member rates for the ALPSP Annual Conference and Awards, free member webinars as well as mentorship scheme which provides professional guidance related to scholarly publishing. ALPSP has nearly 300 member organizations across 30 countries.

ALPSP provides all members with free access to its two publications, Learned Publishing and ALPSP Alert. Learned Publishing is a quarterly journal which includes all topics related to scholarly publishing. ALPSP Alert is a member-only monthly newsletter which contains a summary of important developments in the field of publishing and scholarly communications, as well as updates on ALPSP activities. In addition, ALPSP also select annually the ALPSP Awards for Innovation in Publishing and the ALPSP Award for Contribution to Scholarly Publishing. The previous winners who are both innovative and of significant value to scholarly communication have been widely recognized.

Established in 1980, Tsinghua University Press (TUP) is a first-class national comprehensive higher education and professional publisher in China. TUP has released 45 academic journals, among which 28 are in English and 7 were indexed by SCIE. A number of high-level international journals, represented by Nano Research and Friction, have gained increasing global influence.
