Abstract

Teaching is an ethical cause, and different teaching relationships represent different teaching ethical patterns. In the age of artificial intelligence, the role substitution of intelligent machines has promoted structural changes in teaching ethical relationships, giving rise to a new teaching ethical pattern called “substitution ethics”, which expanded the scope of teaching ethics and profoundly reshaped its connotation. The role substitution of intelligent machines in teaching relations has broken the previous balance of relationships in teaching activities, impacted the existing teaching ethical order, and brought about many substitutional dilemmas such as the weakening of teacher-student ethical relationships, ambiguity attribution of ethical responsibilities in teaching, and asymmetry of ethical values. Therefore, it was necessary to construct substitution ethics in the context of relationship transformation in the age of artificial intelligence by establishing a new ethical responsibility for human teachers in human-machine collaboration, empowering intelligent machines with the ethical connotation of moral regulation through technological ethics, and constructing a substitution ethical responsibility network shared by multiple stakeholders. This construction was a response to current technological challenges and aimed to reshape the teaching ethical order of humanmachine collaboration, and pointed out the appropriate direction for future education to adhere to the original intention of education in the technological torrent.
