Abstract

The Hall effect is a crucial topic in university physics, serving as a comprehensive teaching vehicle that integrates physical concepts, experimental methods, research training, and engineering applications. It holds significant value for cultivating research literacy and practical skills. This paper presents the development of an intelligent rotational speed measurement system based on a linear Hall sensor and a real-time measurement analog-to-digital converter (ADC). The system incorporates total variation denoising with edge preservation and an adaptive frequency analysis algorithm. It achieves high-precision real-time measurement for a single rotor (deviation from the standard value less than 3.7%) and overcomes the limitation of single-sensor setups by successfully achieving synchronous identification of coaxial dual rotors (minimum distinguishable speed difference: 5 r/min, deviation from the standard value less than 1.3%). The system features low cost, ease of construction, and strong anti-interference capability. It provides an innovative and reproducible technical solution for dynamic signal detection and multi-target measurement experiments, offering a practical case study for the teaching of Hall effect experiments.al dual rotors (minimum distinguishable speed difference: 5 r/min, deviation from the standard value less than 1.3%).
