Abstract

The 2025 Chinese Undergraduate Physics Experiment Competition (Innovation) included a micro-video category. Our team selected the topic “Synthesis of Simple Harmonic Motions” and produced a three-minute educational micro-video as an auxiliary teaching resource. Micro-videos can transform abstract physical principles and complex experimental procedures into intuitive visual content, allowing students to review and learn repeatedly at their own pace and thereby lowering the cognitive barrier to understanding. As the faculty advisor, I provided theoretical guidance, strategic planning, and practical suggestions for key tasks, and guided the students in using multiple software tools to complete the micro-video. The work won first prize in the 11th Chinese Undergraduate Physics Experiment Competition (Innovation). The micro-video vividly demonstrates the dynamic process of synthesizing simple harmonic motions and extends the presentation from two-dimensional planes to three-dimensional space. Through engaging and visualized dynamic demonstrations, it stimulates students’ interest in learning. It can serve as a high-quality teaching resource for university physics courses, helping students systematically master the laws of simple harmonic motion synthesis. It also provides teachers with an efficient teaching aid and has both practical value and innovative significance.
