Abstract

To address the disconnect between theory and practice in the teaching of Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction in university physics, as well as students’ limited exposure to frontier research, this paper proposes an innovative teaching model based on research-grade equipment. Taking the research-grade electromagnet EM5 as the core teaching platform, this model establishes an integrated “theory-equipment-frontier” teaching framework, which helps overcome the limitations of traditional instruction. By introducing a practical research case involving the use of EM5 to measure magnetic-field effects in organic light-emitting devices, the model demonstrates the application value of advanced research equipment in frontier scientific studies. Theoretical analysis and teaching design indicate that this approach helps students construct dynamic physical representations, deepen their understanding of the core principles of Faraday’s law, enhance their interest in scientific research and exploration, and strengthen the advanced and inquiry-based nature of the course. This study provides an operable practical scheme for the teaching reform of Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction and offers a new perspective on transforming high-end research instruments into high-quality teaching resources.
