Abstract

With the accelerated evolution of the global technological revolution and industrial transformation, continuous breakthroughs in the frontiers of science and engineering have put forward new requirements for talent cultivation in higher education. In particular, the indepth advancement of the national “Four New” construction (new engineering, new medicine, new agriculture, and new humanities and social sciences) has posed significant challenges for college physics as a general basic course in terms of adapting to professional needs and integrating emerging technologies. Taking Tongji University as an example, this paper deeply explores its exploration and practice in the reform of college physics teaching oriented to the engineering frontier. The reform plan focuses on the comprehensive optimization of the curriculum system, knowledge system, and teaching system. By reconstructing a curriculum system that is “broad-based, specialized in-depth, and integrated with innovation,” continuously creating high-quality textbooks, and building a blended teaching model that integrates information technology both online and offline, the reform has achieved precise support for multiple disciplines and majors across the university, significantly enhancing students' scientific literacy, innovative capabilities, and critical thinking. Practice has proven that the reform of college physics teaching effectively supports the cultivation of “Four New” professionals and has important reference significance for the independent cultivation of high-quality, composite, and innovative talents in the new era.
