In order to comprehend the current teaching status of university physics courses in ethnic classes, this paper conducted a survey on teaching status of physics courses for ethnic classes in 75 colleges and universities in China through questionnaires, interviews, and other forms. The survey covers aspects such as faculty situation, curriculum setting, textbook construction, student foundation, teaching methods, teacher-student interaction, course ideology and politics, assessment methods, and teaching difficulties. It is found that there are several problems in the university physics course for the ethnic classes, such as weak faculty, inadequate class hours, low student enthusiasm, monotonous teaching methods, limited development of teaching resources, a singular approach to setting questions, poor applicability of teaching materials, and a lack of willingness among teachers to implement curriculum ideology and politics. Furthermore, most teachers reflect the need to formulate basic requirements for the teaching of university physics courses in ethnic classes. Based on the preceding analysis, this paper provides suggestions and strategies from aspects such as policy support, curriculum frameworks, resource development, ideological and political orientation of the curriculum, teaching improvement, and textbook construction, offering a reference for more effective teaching of university physics courses in the ethnic classes.
