Abstract

This paper investigates the beat vibrations of magnetic mechanical oscillators in the 36th International Young Physicists’ Tournament (IYPT). The motion characteristics are analyzed using the two-degree-of-freedom free vibration theory. The motion characteristics of the system are analyzed by using the two-degree-of-freedom free vibration theory, and the natural frequencies and vibration laws under several typical initial conditions are obtained. The experimental device was set up, the system parameter values were measured by DIS experimental equipment, etc., and the motion trajectory of the magnet at the upper end of the magneto-mechanical oscillator was tracked by Tracker to obtain the actual motion image. The Working Model simulation software was used to build a motion model, combining virtual and real, introducing experimental parameters, setting initial conditions, and discussing the influence of various factors on the experimental results. The results show that the elastic coefficient, equivalent mass, initial conditions, damping, and other factors have various impacts on the beating vibration, and the theoretical and experimental results agree well.
