Perspective on the Current Strategic Relationship Between Armenia and China

Abstract

This article examines the evolution of diplomatic relations between Armenia and China, formally established in 1992 but rooted in historical interactions along the ancient Silk Road. Employing a qualitative, descriptive-analytical methodology, this study explores the key domains of bilateral cooperation, including trade, education, military engagement, and cultural exchange. The analysis is framed within constructivist theory, emphasizing the role of shared historical narratives and cultural identities in shaping foreign relations and diplomatic institutionalism, which underscores the importance of international cooperation and interdependence. The paper contends that while economic cooperation has been robust, further collaboration in technological innovation, educational exchange, and strategic defense partnerships holds significant potential. Armenia and China can enhance their collaboration by leveraging their historical ties and aligning with shared global peace and development principles. This expanded cooperation could serve as a model for international relations, fostering a more interconnected and harmonious global order.
