Abstract

Exploring the distribution of urban primary education resources can improve the balance of education resources allocation. This paper selects Jiaozuo City as the research area, combined with primary school site data, community and village site data, and road network data, geographic information system spatial analysis methods are used, such as Thiessen polygon, buffer analysis, and network analysis, the spatial layout characteristics and accessibility of primary school education resources from a combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis are analyzed and evaluated. The research results show that the overall spatial distribution of primary schools in Jiaozuo City is mainly characterized by central clustering and scattered around, especially in the northwest of the city where there is less allocation of primary school educational facilities, and the coverage of basic education services in the city is not comprehensive enough. Among the districts in Jiaozuo City, Jiefang District and Shanyang District have the best accessibility, with better accessible area at different time stages and shorter average accessible distance, followed by Shifan District and Macun District. The accessibility of Zhongzhan District is the worst. From the perspective of influencing factors, the spatial distribution and accessibility level of primary education resources in Jiaozuo City are mainly related to population, economy, and terrain factors, which jointly determine the allocation of regional education resources. The paper reveals the spatial layout characteristics and accessibility level of primary education resources in Jiaozuo City, and proposes corresponding optimization suggestions, so as to provide decision-making reference for government departments to adjust the planning of basic education facilities in the future.
