Abstract

Cellular senescence is an important mechanism for suppressing tumor cell proliferation, and currently, senescence therapy is mainly used to treat cancer. Due to the complex role of senescent cells in tumors, using either pro-senescence therapy or senotherapy alone has proven unsatisfactory. In order to systemically understand the current research status of cellular senescence in tumor treatment and guide subsequent treatment direction, this article summarize the characteristics and mechanisms of cellular senescence, discuss various strategies currently employed for cancer therapy using senescence, and aim to provide new insights and methods for tumor treatment.
