Abstract

During mining stoppage periods, slow overburden movement may result in inconspicuous precursors of rock burst, thus complicating monitoring and early warning efforts. This study therefore proposes a rock burst early warning model by extracting the precursors of rock burst in high-stress wide section coal pillars during mining stoppage. Specifically, we took the working face 3-1103 of a certain mine in the Xinjie Mining Area as an example for analysis to conduct uniaxial compression acoustic emission tests and analyze ground sound monitoring data before the "3·24" rock burst event. Results show that: ① both the coal sample and ground sound monitoring data exhibited initially gradual and subsequently sharp increase, and the average activity intensity of energy and frequency in corresponding stages between ground sound and acoustic emission were highly correlated; ② the energy and deviation value of ground sound could serve as precursors of rock burst; ③ the proposed rock burst early warning model has been verified and applied, offering a 24-hour advance warning. This model enables early warning of rock burst during mining stoppage in high-stress wide section coal pillars, providing references for related research.
