• The study focuses on simultaneous allocation of distributed generation (DG) and electric vehicle charging stations (EVCS).
• Conducted on the IEEE 69 bus network and a real part of Ghana's network.
• Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) algorithms are used for optimal placement.
• PSO and ABC demonstrate reduced power loss by up to 68% with high penetration levels of DG units (up to 40%) and EVCS.
