abstract = {Precision machining of thin-walled group micro-holes has brought difficulties to traditional manufacturing. Laser machining technology is hoped to realize high-quality processing of thin-walled array holes because of its high efficiency, pollution-free, and wide applicability. But micro-holes processed by laser have problems such as recast layers or micro-crack. To solve these problems, a novel method which is called laser and electrochemical composite processing technology under action of a magnetic field is proposed in this paper. This novel method can reduce taper of micro-hole, and remove machining defects. The mechanism of effect of magnetic field on laser induced plasma and electrochemical machining was mainly analyzed. The effect of magnetic field on micro-hole forming process was simulated. The research on laser composite machining under magnetic field action had been carried out. Experimental results showed that average diameter of micro-holes increased, while oxygen element and surface roughness decreased under the auxiliary effect of magnetic field. When magnetic field intensity increased from 60 to 130 mT, hole diameter and roundness increased by 2.6 % and 2.8 %, while taper decreased by 9 %. This paper verified the feasibility of magnetic field assisted laser and electrochemical machining.}
