However, due to the limitations of traditional assessment paradigms, the current situation of students'grit development as manifested in real situational performance has not been fully revealed. On the basis of authentic multimodal performance data from 486 fourth-grade students participating in scientific inquiry activities at the affiliated schools of B university, this paper adopted overall analysis, typology analysis, differential analysis, and moderating effect analysis to explore students’grit performance. Results showed that the overall level of grit among fourth-grade students in the sample school was relatively low, with unbalanced development of its internal structure. Students’grit types exhibited a diverse trend, and differences in students’grit were mainly driven by individual behavioral and emotional factors, while the influence of environmental background remained limited. Moreover, students’grit demonstrated cross-group universality and stability. Based on these findings, this paper proposed countermeasures and suggestions from three aspects of curriculum and task design, teacher support and home-school collaboration, as well as assessment diagnosis and technology empowerment, so as to provide references for the future cultivation and development of students’grit.
