abstract = {In order to promote the cultivation of practical ability of applied talents, improve the independent innovation of undergraduates, and stimulate their interest in scientific research, the retroactivity teaching method is applied to design the course of “Research on the Electro-optic Effect of Liquid Crystal” in college physics experiments. Starting from the cutting-edge technology development and applications of liquid crystals, the course retraces basic physical concepts, principles, and phenomena to stimulate students' interest and learning abilities, guiding them to establish noble ideals and enhance their sense of social responsibility. The course design is based on practical experiments, integrating course content with industrial production, and encouraging students to independently design and prepare liquid crystal cells of different sizes, strengthening their practical training and enhancing the cultivation of applied talents. At the same time, scientific research thinking is introduced into teaching and research, simulating the arrangement changes of liquid crystal molecules under the action of electric fields, guiding students to explore experimental principles, stimulating their desire for exploration and creativity, and improving their scientific literacy and innovative thinking.}
