AB  - The skin is a complex organ that serves as a protective barrier and performs many other functions. Several populations of stem cells reside in the skin and are responsible for the structural and functional integrity of the organ and its behavior during skin aging. We aim to provide a comprehensive overview of current knowledge about skin stem cells and their role in aging and discuss how organoids are used in skin stem cell research, highlighting their advantages over traditional two-dimensional cell culture systems and their potential to enable us to gain more insight into aging skin and the development of regenerative therapies.
