abstract = {It is an effective way to train new engineering talents to take the problems encountered in the teaching practice of electrostatic field as extracurricular research topics. Based on the concept of STEAM education, this paper adopts project-based learning, takes student as the main body, and takes interdisciplinary integration and innovation as the orientation, to develop teaching objectives and teaching methods. Physics theory and experimental innovation are organically integrated to guide students to design a new visual automatic surveying instrument for electric field by combining single-chip microcomputer technology and Matlab program. This instrument is easy to operate and efficient, with high measurement accuracy, and can visually display the dynamic changes of the electric field. The process of applying knowledge to practice improves students ability of innovation and comprehensive application of knowledge, and also provides new ideas for the reform of teaching in universites.}
