abstract = {A model of a two-electrode capacitance rod position measurement sensor (CRPMS) was developed based on the finite element method with static characteristic tests to validate the model. The tests show that the finite element results agree well with the measurements. The conformal mapping method and a series-parallel integral method for capacitors were then used to develop analytical models of the sensor with and without the measuring rod. The maximum error between the analytical models with correction factors and the finite-difference model is less than 8% within the applicable range of the analytical models. This research provides a basis for the design and optimization of two-electrode capacitance rod position measurement sensors.}
